Vedanta – Foxconn/ Tata :signed a deal for manufacturing Semiconductor chips in India. Dholera becomes the first Semiconductor Hub in India. This project will make it independent India from importing Semiconductor Chips. This project is held in the Dholera Special Investment region. Vedanta and Foxconn had evaluated several sites in different countries, but when the Union government announced the India Semiconductor Mission in December last year, the two companies started looking at land in different states of the country and then chose Gujarat. Last September 14, Vedanta and Foxconn signed an MoU with the Gujarat government for an investment of 1,54,000 crores to set up a plant in Gujarat. To decide on the site for the plant, the team determined 50 parameters, including a soil test.

PSMC: New boost to India’s dream of becoming a semiconductor nation, now PSMC (Powerchip Semiconductor Manufacturing Corp) is ready to help India in setting fabs. The Chairman of Taiwan’s 3rd largest foundry, Huang Chongren, has stated that PSMC is ready to sign a cooperation agreement with the Indian government. Having experience in setting up factories in joint ventures with mainland China, PSMC might assist Indian and large local companies such as Vedanta or Tata in setting up factories and training talent for fabs.

• Plug and Play: A gigantic Dholera (Greenfield Plug and Play) Industrial Smart City is being built in Gujarat, which is progressing rapidly in terms of industrialization, on an area of ??920 square kilometers. Currently, most of the people's time is wasted going to the office and returning home from the office, but this will not be the case in the new Dholera. Walk-to-work culture has been specially kept in mind while developing this city.
